Tasting Notes

The aroma is faint and clean, with a light grain sweetness and a faint grassy hop note that barely registers. On the palate, it's thin-bodied with soft carbonation, offering mild corn sweetness and a hint of pale malt. There's very little bitterness, and the finish is short and neutral. It's a beer designed around inoffensiveness rather than complexity.

About the Brewery

Anheuser-Busch is one of the largest brewing operations in the world, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and now owned by AB InBev following a 2008 acquisition. They produce some of the most widely distributed lagers in the United States, including Budweiser and Bud Light. Rolling Rock itself originated at the Latrobe Brewing Company in Pennsylvania in 1939 and was acquired by Anheuser-Busch in 2006, after which production moved away from its original Pennsylvania home.

This style pairs well with mild foods that won't overwhelm its understated profile. A hot dog or bratwurst off the grill works because the light malt sweetness doesn't compete with the sausage fat. Salted popcorn or pretzels play off the beer's subtle grain character. Mild white fish like tilapia or flounder pairs naturally given the beer's low bitterness and clean finish.
