Privacy Policy

Effective: May 12, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Ben Koevary, an individual operating as Brewskipotatoes ("Brewskipotatoes," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information in connection with the Brewskipotatoes iOS application and the brewskipotatoes.com website (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the email address and identifier associated with your authentication method. Brewskipotatoes supports Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and email/password authentication. If you use Sign in with Apple's Hide My Email feature, Apple provides us with a private relay address rather than your personal email. You may also provide a display name, username, avatar image, and biographical information.

2.2 User Content

The Service allows you to create and upload content, including beer log entries (beer name, brewery, style, alcohol-by-volume, rating, tasting notes, serving format, timestamp), photographs (beer images, menu images, avatar images), and messages exchanged in private group conversations ("Crews"). This content is collectively referred to as "User Content."

2.3 Location Information

If you grant location permission, we may collect precise geographic coordinates when you log a beer or search for nearby venues. We also store venue addresses and coordinates you associate with logs, along with reverse-geocoded city, state, and country information. Location data is used to populate venue tags, provide nearby-venue recommendations, and compute aggregate statistics such as cities visited.

2.4 Subscription and Transaction Information

If you purchase a subscription or in-app purchase, transaction processing is handled by Apple via the App Store and tracked by our subscription management provider, RevenueCat, Inc. ("RevenueCat"). We receive limited information including your subscription tier, product identifier, subscription start and expiration dates, and an anonymized purchaser identifier. We do not receive your payment card information, billing address, or other payment instruments.

2.5 Device and Usage Information

We collect a push notification token issued by Apple Push Notification Service ("APNs") if you grant notification permission, in order to deliver notifications you have requested. We also collect minimal operational telemetry related to artificial intelligence ("AI") feature usage, including model identifiers, request and response token counts, request duration, success or error status, and estimated cost, in order to monitor service performance and cost.

2.6 Social Graph Information

The Service includes social features that allow you to follow other users, be followed, send and receive "cheers" (likes) on beer logs, join Crews, and exchange messages within Crews. We collect information about these connections and interactions as necessary to operate these features.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

4. AI Feature Processing

Certain features rely on third-party AI services provided by Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"). When you invoke an AI feature, the relevant input is transmitted to Anthropic for processing. This may include:

Anthropic processes this information solely to generate the requested response and, pursuant to its commercial terms, does not use this data to train its models. Certain AI features may invoke Anthropic's web search capability or Google's Places API to retrieve external information; in those cases, the underlying query (but not your account identifier) may be transmitted to those services. For information about Anthropic's practices, see anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms and anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information in the following circumstances:

5.1 Service Providers

We rely on the following service providers to operate the Service:

5.2 Other Users

Information you publish through the Service is shared with other users as designed by the feature: your beer logs and profile information are visible to users in accordance with the Service's privacy settings; Crew messages are visible to other members of the relevant Crew; cheers and follows are visible to relevant users.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms of Service.

5.4 Business Transfers

If Brewskipotatoes is acquired, merged, or otherwise transferred to a successor entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy or a successor policy of comparable scope.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to provide the Service. When you delete your account through Profile → Settings → Delete Account, your User Content and account data are permanently deleted from our active databases. Backup copies may persist for up to thirty (30) days as part of normal backup retention before being purged. Anonymized operational telemetry that cannot reasonably be associated with an identifiable user may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your information:

7.1 California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, affords you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we have collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@brewskipotatoes.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

7.2 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland Residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and analogous laws provide you with rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing. Our legal bases for processing include the performance of a contract (operating the Service you have requested), our legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Service), and your consent (for optional features such as location services and push notifications). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction of residence (twenty-one (21) years of age or older in the United States). The Service is not directed to children under thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13). If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen (13), we will delete that information.

9. Security

We employ reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted data at rest where supported by our hosting provider, scoped database access controls, and authentication-gated application programming interfaces. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by other reasonable means. The "Effective" date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after a revision becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
