About the Brewery
Coors was founded in 1873 in Golden, Colorado, where it still operates one of the largest single-site breweries in the world. The company built its early reputation on Rocky Mountain water and a regional mystique that made it a cult item in states where it wasn't yet distributed during the 1970s. Now part of Molson Coors, the brewing conglomerate, the Golden facility remains central to production. Banquet is their flagship heritage lager, predating the lighter Coors Light by over a century.
