About the Brewery
Schlenkerla is a historic Bamberg brewery and tavern, operating continuously since at least the late 14th century and closely associated with the rauchbier — smoked beer — tradition that defines the city. Their malt is kilned over beechwood at their own maltings, imparting the distinctive smoke that runs through virtually their entire lineup. The Schlenkerla taproom on Dominikanerstraße is considered a pilgrimage site for serious beer drinkers visiting Franconia.
