The beer that launched American craft brewing — Sierra Nevada's 1980 original made Cascade hops famous. Citrus and pine hop character over a balanced, lightly caramel malt base, more restrained than an IPA at 4.5–6.2%. Still the best single test of a brewery's fundamentals.
