Tasting Notes
The aroma leans heavily on Mosaic hops, delivering a concentrated wave of blueberry, mango, and subtle earthy pine underneath. On the palate, the beer is full and pillowy, with tropical fruit flavors dominating and a low bitterness that lets the hop character speak without harshness. The body is thick but not cloying, built from heavy dry-hopping and a grain bill designed to support haze. The finish is soft and fruity, fading gently rather than cutting clean.
About the Brewery
WeldWerks is based in Greeley, Colorado, founded in 2015, and built a national reputation quickly on the strength of their hazy IPAs — particularly the Juicy Bits series, which became a benchmark for the style in the American craft scene. They've since expanded into stouts, sours, and barrel-aged work, but their hop-forward beers remain the core of their identity. Their annual Invitational festival draws breweries from across the country and signals serious standing in the craft community.
Food Pairings
Spicy Thai noodles work well because the soft fruit character tempers chili heat without fighting it. Grilled shrimp tacos with mango salsa echo the tropical hop notes and let the beer's body stand up to the richness of the protein. A mild, creamy cheese like burrata or fresh mozzarella pairs naturally because the fat smooths the hop oils and makes both elements taste rounder. Fish and chips also fit, since the beer's low bitterness doesn't overwhelm delicate fried cod the way a more aggressive IPA might.
Style Guide
New England IPA, sometimes called hazy or juicy IPA, is defined by intentional haze, low perceived bitterness, and a hop profile that reads as fruit-forward rather than resinous or sharp. The style emerged from New England breweries in the early 2010s — notably The Alchemist and Trillium — and spread nationally as brewers chased its soft, approachable character. It differs from West Coast IPA primarily in texture and bitterness: where West Coast leans dry, bitter, and clear, NEIPA is fuller-bodied, murky, and built around aroma and flavor rather than bittering additions. ABV typically runs from 6% to 8%.
