A strong golden Trappist style defined at Westmalle: spicy, peppery yeast phenols over citrus and pear fruit, lightened with candi sugar so the body stays lean. The finish is dry and effervescent despite 8–9.5%. One of brewing's great magic tricks — enormous strength, little weight.
